Landscaping & Weed Issues

This is to make you aware that during a recent community inspection, ourCommunity Manager inspected the neighborhood for landscape and weed issues.Unfortunately, 31 new violations were noted as well as 13 second and thirdnotices. If you received one of these notices, please be assured that you arenot being singled out and we are only trying to make everyone aware of thestandards being enforced throughout the neighborhood. The violation letters arenot meant to offend owners, but the Board has a duty to make sure that ourcommunity is being held to the highest standards to enhance property values.

 

Wewould also like you to be aware of the length of time it may take to navigatethrough the violation process. 

• Letters are only sent every other week and the third letter has to be received by the owner before fines can be assessed. 

Someof you have asked about the HOA contracting for the landscape work to be doneand charging the owner’s account for the service.  

• This practice is not recommended as the grass will grow and work will be needed again in a short period of time. There is also a question of trespassing and most landscape companies will not perform the service against the will of an owner. The Auburn Springs Board tried this in the past and it was unsuccessful.

Youas a concerned Owner can assist your HOA with this issue!

• If you have a neighbor in close proximity that is not taking care of their property, please contact the City of Allen to file a complaint. The City does not have to abide by the same time constraints the HOA must follow and can work much quicker to bring the owner into compliance. All calls are confidential.
